Château Gaudin is located in the Médoc, more precisely in Pauillac in Gironde. This vineyard benefits from a very privileged location, it is located on the gravelly hills of the village of Saint-Lambert, which are shared with the prestigious, world-famous vineyards. These exceptional lands are classified as an appellation d’origine contrôlée (AOC). The gravel which constitutes them provides good drainage of the soil and allows the accumulated heat to be released, thus filling the fruits with sunshine.

The grapes come from ideally located plots, from old vines whose average age is 45 years, however our oldest plot dates from 1864, we work in systematic planting. The grape varieties are made up of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and 5% Carmenère, Petit Verot and Malbec, which are ancient grape varieties and forge the identity of our vintages.
This wine is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels (50% new barrels) from a small traditional Médoc cooperage. Le Réserve is a wine that crosses the decades with ease thanks to its typically Pauillac tannic grape varieties.
The taste impressions are mainly focused on the fruit, we often find the notes of blackcurrant, blackberry and raspberry, accompanied by fine woody notes which give fullness on the palate. The Cabernet Sauvignon brings acidity and freshness which gives a nice length in the mouth.
As it matures, the wine evolves towards more flavors and complexity, losing acidity and letting the tannins express themselves more pronouncedly.

The Cuvée Collection, the latest addition to Château Gaudin, was created in 2000 in memory of Mr. Pierre Bibian, our father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The selected grapes come from the most beautiful plots. The grapes are collected and sorted manually with a vatting period of 21 to 30 days, they are traditionally aged for 24 months in French oak barrels (100% new wood) with love and passion. Which makes this wine a wine of character, with particularly woody notes.
This Cuvée Collection is sold in heavy, conical bottles, packaged in wooden boxes. Our wines are to be drunk with red or white meats, game, cheeses, or simply as an aperitif.
The Cuvée Collection as well as the Réserve are typical wines of the AOC Pauillac, which should be kept for 8 to 10 years, if you wish to be able to appreciate its tannic aromas at their peak.
